‘Wipe Out These People, Kill Them’ – Adesina Speaks On Buhari’s Final Order To Security Chiefs

Femi Adesina

Former presidential spokesman, Femi Adesina, has revealed that late former President, Muhammadu Buhari, gave a blunt directive to Nigeria’s security chiefs at the height of insurgency in 2021.

Naijaonpoint reports that Adesina, in a tribute following the former president’s death, said Buhari held a meeting with security chiefs when insurgency reached its peak in 2021 and ordered the killing of terrorists.

While describing Buhari as a patriot who cared deeply for Nigerians, Adesina said the late former president was visibly frustrated by the persistent threat of terrorism and told the security chiefs to kill terrorists because they do not deserve to live.

He said, “When insurgency reached its peak in 2021, and he held a meeting with security chiefs, he was virtually pleading: ‘Wipe out these people. Kill them.

“They are haters of humanity. They don’t deserve to live. Nigerians love me, they trust me, that’s why they keep voting for me. Wipe them out. Kill them.”

According to Adesina, the late Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Ibrahim Attahiru, responded with a firm commitment, promising that once the awaited military platforms were delivered, the armed forces would swiftly complete the mission.

However,  Attahiru’s promise was cut short as he died in a military plane crash, one week after the meeting, leaving a heavy blow to the nation’s counterinsurgency efforts.
