Comedian Ayobami Ajewole, popularly known as Woli Agba, has shared how he narrowly escaped a life-threatening incident when a car he was in caught fire.
Naijaonpoint reports that the 42-year-old entertainer narrated the incident on Instagram on Wednesday.
The actor explained that the ordeal began on Saturday after he had a burst tyre while driving on the highway.
Another vehicle was quickly provided for him to continue his journey to an event, but the relief was short-lived.
Upon arriving at the venue, he remained inside the replacement car to change his outfit.
Unknown to him, the fuel tank, which was half full, had already caught fire.
Despite the burning flames, the vehicle did not explode while he was still inside, leaving him shaken by the experience.
Onlookers initially thought the fire came from an electrical fault.
Fire extinguishers were used, but could not contain the blaze.
As a last measure, the car was pushed out of the event centre to prevent further damage.
When it seemed all hope was lost, an unidentified man appeared with an industrial fire extinguisher, put out the fire, and left without revealing his identity.
Woli Agba described the escape as a divine intervention, saying the incident could have ended his life.
The skitmaker, who leads the Instagram Parish Ministry (IPM), expressed deep gratitude for surviving the frightening event.
He said: “So I had an event on Saturday, after escaping the accident from the bursted tyre while on the highway. I fortunately got another car that I took to the venue right on the spot of the accident.
“Arriving the venue, I was changing my outfit in the car not knowing the TANK of the CAR that contains fuel up to the half of the tank already caught fire.
“This is my testimony, I can’t explain how and where the fuel passed that the car did not explode while I was inside the car despite the fact that there was physical fire that everyone was trying to put out after I highlighted from the car and they discovered.
“When there was no more options… they decided to push the car out of the event centre so the burning won’t affect other cars. While they abandoned the car expecting it to explode, another man no one could describe came with an industrial fire extinguisher, quenched the fire all by himself and left.”
