Marvel’s Wolverine finally kills his mutant archnemesis after decades of rivalry, but it might be the worst mistake in his life. Doug Ramsey managed to take over a portion of the United States thanks to his powerful ability to command anyone. Mutants as strong-willed as Wolverine have become Revelation’s followers, and those who didn’t either perished from the X-Virus or have developed new mutations that aren’t related to their X-Gene.
Long before the Age of Revelation began, and a little before the original Age of Apocalypse divided the X-Men’s history in two, Arkady Rossovich a.k.a. Omega Red made his debut and developed a bloody fixation on Wolverine. Ever since Wolverine stole and lost the Carbonadium Synthesizer, Omega Red has been obsessed with torturing and killing Logan and his family. In turn, Wolverine has taken every opportunity to wound Omega Red to get rid of the energy-sucking mutant villain.
X years into the Age of Revelation, Wolverine achieves this goal in the worst way possible.

Despite his villainous reputation, Nathaniel Essex seeks all information that could help undo Revelation’s takeover. To achieve it, he orders his team, Sinister’s Six, to infiltrate Revelation’s research facility. What neither Sinister nor his team expect is that Revelation’s research base is holding something even better than valuable information: the cure to the X-Virus itself. Unfortunately, Revelation’s Seraphim arrive, and Wolverine brutally murders the most powerful of Sinister’s Six, Omega Red.
Arkady Rossovich had just showcased his ability to kill multiple enemies almost instantly, though he also revealed he needed to recharge in order to repeat the same move. A fully-powered Omega Red would have been able to slow down the Seraphim and give his team a greater chance to retrieve the cure. Sadly, Omega Red is too sick, and Wolverine is more ruthless than ever.
Under normal conditions, Wolverine and Omega Red go to great lengths to harm each other. Omega Red’s Death Factor often leaves Wolverine on the brink of death, and Wolverine’s healing factor often becomes Omega Red’s biggest challenge. Arkady Rossovich has even killed Wolverine temporarily, and he has cheated death just to torment Logan. While Omega Red may return once the Age of Revelation is undone, his death is especially tragic considering he was finally attempting to achieve a heroic feat.

Logan Lost His Freedom To A Villain Again
The Age of Revelation could go down as one of Wolverine’s greatest personal failures. Just like his time under Weapon X, the Hand, and Romulus’ manipulations, Logan once has become a weapon wielded by someone else’s hand once again. There’s little Wolverine could have done this time, but the guilt may still be hard to shake off.
When the Age of Revelation timeline is undone, Wolverine will have to live with the horror of his actions and the years he spent as a servant to tyranny. Worse still, he may realize that he helped delay the cure to the X-Virus and the fall of Revelation’s regime. Having brutally killed Omega Red, Logan’s guilt may rival his regret over Weapon X.
