Wonder Woman and Captain America are officially a couple in DC and Marvel lore. Marvel and DC rarely bring their universes together despite their popularity, but the Big Two are giving fans a treat in 2025. Unlike crossover events where all characters fight each other, or the Amalgam universe where all characters are merged, most characters are teaming up in this Marvel and DC collaboration.
Deadpool and Batman headline DC and Marvel’s new crossover, but Marvel/DC: Batman/Deadpool #1 features several other hero encounters. Jeff & Krypto, Daredevil & Green Arrow, Rocket Raccoon & Green Lantern, and Wolverine & Batman explore scenarios that had never even been considered before. However, Captain America and Wonder Woman’s short story is arguably the show-stealer.

Wonder Woman & Captain America Have A Bittersweet Romance In Marvel & DC’s 2025 Crossover

Marvel/DC‘s Captain America and Wonder Woman crossover makes the bold decision to have the heroes meet during one of WWII’s key moments: Hitler’s death. In this continuity, Steve Rogers is on the verge of killing Hitler, but Diana Prince talks him out of it. While Steve and Diana’s arguments for and against executing the tyrant might be controversial, it sets the stage for a surprisingly organic romance between Captain America and Wonder Woman.
In this universe, Wonder Woman revives Captain America’s devotion to justice, and Steve keeps Diana grounded when her righteousness wavers. Apparently, Wonder Woman and Captain America are much more famous and influential to the superhero community than Superman and Iron Man, as they remain in the forefront throughout the decades. Their team doesn’t get a name, but it’s guided by Diana and Steve’s sense of justice.
There are several key changes Marvel/DC‘s Wonder Woman and Captain America crossover makes in the background, all worthy of development. Captain America convinces Wonder Woman not to kill Maxwell Lord, team up during the Superhuman Registration Act, and witness Supergirl’s death in a version of Crisis on Infinite Earths. Most importantly, Steve Rogers dies while fighting a three-bodied monster that resembles Darkseid, Thanos, and King Thanos.

Captain America And Wonder Woman Have Lots Of Unexplored Potential As A Couple
Captain America and Wonder Woman’s lives and values mirror each other’s. Unlike Steve Trevor, who’s an ordinary soldier caught up in Diana’s extraordinary world, Steve Rogers shares Diana’s role as a living symbol of justice. Both heroes know what it means to fight not only in wars, but also for ideals larger than themselves, while constantly feeling out of place in a modern world that moved on without them.
Diana Prince surpasses all of Steve Rogers’ love interests because she embodies both the compassion and the warrior’s spirit he values most. While Sharon Carter, Wanda Maximoff, and Betsy Ross have each shared moments of connection with Steve, none carry the same mythic, superhuman weight. Diana, like Steve, is timeless as an enduring symbol of self-sacrifice and hope who matches his strength in both body and conviction.
