VICTOR Osimhen has finally arrived in the Super Eagles of Nigeria camp in Rabat, Morocco for the 2026 FIFA World Cup play-offs.
The Galatasaray striker, who scored a hat-trick in the Super Eagles’ 4-0 victory over Benin Republic last month which earned them the play-offs spot, reported at the team’s Rive Hotel base in the afternoon today.
The Super Eagles will face Gabon in the first semi-final of the African play-offs on Thursday, two days away.
Osimhen’s arrival brings the number of players in camp to 23 of the 24 invited, with only Udinese goalkeeper Maduka Okoye being expected as at 4pm today.
United States of America-based Alhassan Yusuf also arrived in Rabat today.
Eight players arrived in camp yesterday, joining the 10 that reported at the Rive Hotel on Sunday.
Among the players to join up with the squad yesterday were Atalanta forward Ademola Lookman and Chippa United goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali.
Others were Ethiopia-based goalkeeper Amos Obasogie, Sevilla pair Akor Adams and Chidera Ejuke as well as Club Brugge midfielder Raphael Onyedika and England-based defender Bright Osayi-Samuel.
The Super Eagles held their first training session in Rabat yesterday at the Institut Royal de Formation des Cadres.
They will train again this evening, meaning Osimhen and Yusuf’s first full session with their teammates is two days before the win-or-go-home clash.
If the Super Eagles overcome Gabon, they will face either Cameroon or the Democratic Republic of Congo in the final.
The winners of the African play-offs will earn the only ticket to the six-team intercontinental play-offs in Mexico next March.
The 2026 World Cup will be co-hosted by the United States of America, Mexico and Canada in June and July.
