WWD: Rite Foods supports essential workers with products

Rite Foods Limited has supported essential workers in Lagos with water marking the 2025 World Water Day.

Rite Foods Limited, makers of Bigi Premium Drinking Water, on March 21 distributed bottles of its premium water to security personnel, traffic wardens, Central Business District workers, street sweepers, and road safety officers.

The company in a statement noted that the initiative underscored its commitment to community well-being and sustainability by ensuring that those who keep the city running have access to clean and safe water.

The Head of Corporate Affairs and Sustainability at Rite Foods, Ekuma Eze, hailed the initiative stating, “Water is life. It is a necessity and the most important ingredient in our products.

“As we mark World Water Day, we want to ensure that those who tirelessly serve our communities have access to this vital resource. At Rite Foods, we believe in giving back to society and raising awareness about hydration, wellness, and water conservation.”

Rite Foods handed out bottles of water to workers at high-traffic locations, including Mobolaji Bank Anthony Way, Ikeja Underbridge, Obafemi Awolowo Way, Kudirat Abiola Way, LTV Traffic Light, Acme Junction, Ikosi Road Junction, Ojodu, and Berger Underbridge.

A worker thanked the company for the gesture commenting, “It was refreshing and soothing to be remembered, especially under the scorching sun and the current heatwave. Accessing a premium brand like Bigi Premium Drinking Water made all the difference.”

World Water Day, observed annually on March 22, highlights the global challenges of water access and promotes sustainable solutions. This year’s theme, Glacier Preservation, emphasises the importance of glaciers in the planet’s water cycle and calls for urgent action against climate change.

Rite Foods Limited reaffirmed its commitment to environmental sustainability, public health, and social impact through this initiative.
