Marvel sneakily confirms one underrated X-Men mutant hero will finally headline her own title in 2026. Charles Xavier’s original X-Men team and the world-famous Giant-Size X-Men squad are the faces of Marvel mutant heroes. Since then, a wide variety of mutant characters and teams have starred in their own solo comic runs, as well as in major crossover events and relaunches.
By 2025, individual mutants no longer need direct associations with a team in order to shine. Jean Grey, Storm, and Magik have recently headlined their own solo comics, and both Rogue and Cyclops will star in their solo comics as soon as Shadows of Tomorrow arrives. However, A-list X-Men icons won’t be the only mutant heroes getting special treatment from Marvel.
Echo: Seeker of Truth #1 not only gives Maya Lopez a new solo adventure and features a famous street-level Marvel villain’s return, but it also teases a new batch of comics Marvel fans will love.
Dani Moonstar Will Star In Her Own Comic Series
Moonstar #1; Releasing January 28th, 2026
At the end of Echo: Seeker of Truth #1, Marvel advertises White Tiger: Reborn #1, Rogue Storm #1, and Miles Morales: Spider-Man #40, all of which are now available. Marvel also teases Spider-Girl #6, coming November 12, 2025; as well as Moonstar #1, arriving January 28, 2026. Moonstar #1’s cover features Dani Moonstar in her classic outfit, suggesting Dani’s comic will explore either her origins or her future after the events of X-Vengers.
Currently, Dani Moonstar is busy leading the mutated X-Vengers during the Age of Revelation. Dani’s mutate Avengers team is incredibly powerful, and she does a great job honoring Captain America’s legacy. However, the Age of Revelation is bound to end soon, and the full decade’s worth of dystopian struggle that Doug Ramsey created will likely be undone. Since that could erase Dani Moonstar’s feats, she more than deserves a comic of her own to show off her skills.
Dani Moonstar’s Solo Series Is Long Overdue
Dani Is Much More Than A Simple Mutant
From her early days as one of the New Mutants to her time with the X-Vengers, Danielle Moonstar has consistently proven herself as a natural leader and a proud Cheyenne mutant. Her empathic and illusion-casting powers are also a mirror of her deep connection to both humanity and mutantkind. After her standout participation in the New Mutants’ adventures, Dani Moonstar’s evolution into a Valkyrie took her innate warrior strength and emotional wisdom to another level.
Dani Moonstar’s role as leader of the X-Vengers has placed her in a unique spot that justifies a solo run where she receives all the spotlight. Dani’s Cheyenne heritage, her mutant community, and her heroic calling spread across multiple teams are ideal themes to explore. After years of guiding others, Dani deserves to lead her own story.
