Xbox has finally revealed the next entry in the Forza Horizon series, which is, naturally, titled Forza Horizon 6. Fans have long suspected a Forza Horizon 6 reveal was coming soon, with rumors circulating that it would drop during the TGS 2025 showcase. Fortunately, the rumors came true, and we got not just a general title reveal, but also a look at the game’s new setting.
Xbox revealed Forza Horizon 6 during its Tokyo Game Show 2025 showcase. The trailer was entirely cinematic with no gameplay shown, although that isn’t completely unusual for a first reveal. Of course, alongside the reveal trailer, we also got a release date, the platforms it is coming to, alongside a few other pieces of information that should get fans of the series and newcomers very excited.
Forza Horizon 6 Is Set In Japan
Fans Have Been Requesting The Setting For Ages
Xbox announced during its Tokyo Game Show 2025 showcase that Forza Horizon 6 will be set in Japan. Matt Booty explained that Playground Games and Turn 10 have brought “Japan to life like never before” in Forza Horizon 6, which is exciting, as apparently it has been the most requested location since the first game. Fans assumed Japan would be the setting after the latest Forza Horizon leak revealed as much.
Of course, it is great to see Japan finally represented in the series, especially considering the Forza Horizon games are some of the best open-world titles for sightseeing. While the trailer showcasing the game’s new location was extremely brief, we did get a few other pieces of information, namely when it is releasing and what platforms players can expect to see it on.
Forza Horizon 6 Release Date & Platforms
It Is Launching In 2026
Forza Horizon 6 is releasing in 2026, although a specific date hasn’t been confirmed yet. Fortunately, Matt Booty assured fans that we’d be hearing more about the game next year, likely during the 2026 Xbox Showcase. There’s a good chance Forza Horizon 6 won’t release until later in the year, as every Forza Horizon game has released between September and November, with Forza Horizon 5 launching on November 5, 2021. So expect Forza Horizon 6 to release around November 2026.
Forza Horizon 6 is coming to Xbox Game Pass on day one and will be launching for the Xbox Series X/S. However, there is no word of Forza Horizon 6 on PlayStation consoles. Forza Horizon 5 did eventually come to PS5, so it would be surprising for Xbox not to take a similar stance with its sequel. However, Forza Horizon 6 could release on PS5 a short while after it does on Xbox, like Indiana Jones and the Great Circle.
