In addition to announcing global variants of the Xiaomi 14 Ultra and Xiaomi 14, the company also announced three wearables at MWC 2024. The devices in question are the Xiaomi Watch 2, Xiaomi Smart Band 8 Pro, and the Xiaomi Watch S3.

Do note that two out of three of these devices have already launched in China. The Xiaomi Smart Band 8 Pro launched in August last year, while the Xiaomi Watch S3 followed in October. Now they’ve both been announced globally.

This is the initial launch of the Xiaomi Watch 2, and that watch will be available globally

This is the initial launch of the Xiaomi Watch 2, though. Speaking of which, that smartwatch is made out of metal, and it has a round display. There are two buttons on its right-hand side, and neither one doubles as a rotating crown.

The watch comes with a silicone band. The watch itself is available in metallic gray and dark gray colors, while they come in a number of different silicone strap colors, including white, green, black, and more.

Google’s Wear OS comes pre-installed here. The Snapdragon W5+ Gen 1 chip fuels this smartwatch, while a 495mAh battery is included here. Xiaomi says that you can get up to 65 hours of battery life under “typical usage”.

The watch comes with 32GB of internal storage, and it features a 1.43-inch AMOLED display. It weighs 37 grams and supports over 160 sports modes. The dual-band L1+L5 GNSS will help out with navigation, and both Strava and Suunto partnerships are on board here.

The Xiaomi Watch 2 also offers an “accurate health monitoring experience”, as it has a 12-channel heart rate monitoring module. Sleep tracking and bloody oxygen tracking are also possible.

The Xiaomi Watch 2 is priced at €329 in Europe, and £299 in the UK.

The Xiaomi Smart Band 8 Pro comes to global markets months after its initial launch

Xiaomi’s Smart Band 8 Pro is kind of a fitness tracker-smartwatch hybrid. It looks way more like a smartwatch than the Xiaomi Smart Band 8. It has a square display, without physical buttons on its body.

There is a 1.74-inch AMOLED display on the front, with a 60Hz refresh rate. It has a resolution of 336 x 480. This smart band is very thin at 9.99mm, and quite light at 22.5 grams. The display is protected by the Gorilla Glass Victus.

The Xiaomi Smart Band 8 Pro features a light sensor and quick-release watch bands. There are 200 watch faces pre-installed, and over 150 sports modes to choose from. The device also has 10 on-wrist running courses to choose from.

The Xiaomi Smart Band 8 Pro has a new 4-channel heart rate monitoring module. It includes a 289mAh battery, which can last up to 14 days with typical use, says Xiaomi. GNSS positioning is also built-in. This fitness tracker is 5 ATM rated.

Xiaomi’s Smart Band 8 Pro is priced at €69 in Europe, and £59.99 in the UK.

The Xiaomi Watch S3 rounds op the trio

The Xiaomi Watch S3 is also a round smartwatch. This device also has two buttons on the right-hand side, and neither of those is a rotating crown. This device actually looks fairly similar to the Xiaomi Watch 2.

It includes a 1.43-inch AMOLED display, and it’s made out of aluminum. There are over 180 free watch faces that you can use, and Xiaomi’s HyperOS comes pre-installed here. The battery can last up to 15 days, says the company. The watch also charges quickly.

There are over 150 sports modes that you can access here, and L1+L5 dual-band GNSS is also on offer. 10 different running courses are also at your disposal here. The watch does offer advanced health monitoring capabilities, including a 12-channel heart rate monitoring module.

The Xiaomi Watch S3 can be yours for €149 in Europe, and £129.99 in the UK.
