NaijaOnPoint Nigeria reports that Nigerian Afro-pop star, Yemi Alade, has ruled out the possibility of collaborating with fellow singer Tiwa Savage, despite persistent calls from fans for the two to join forces.
In an interview on the WithChude podcast, the Johnny crooner explained that she prefers to “stay clear” to avoid unnecessary drama or problems in her life.
While stressing that she has always supported female artists and collaborated with many of them, Yemi admitted that working with Tiwa might never happen because of the tension stirred by fans and the media.
She said, “The fan-favourite collaboration is Tiwa Savage, but I’d rather stay clear; I don’t want problems in my life. There’s no issue at all. The truth is, most fans and the media tend to stir waters that are supposed to be still.”
Recall that in December 2018, both singers had a public fallout after Yemi threw shade at female entertainers who “deceive fans by enlarging their buttocks” in pictures — a post many believed was aimed at Tiwa Savage.
Tiwa later responded on Instagram, warning, “Don’t start a war you can’t finish.”
