The Imo State chapter of the All Progressives Congress, APC, under the leadership of MacDonald Ebere, has congratulated Nentawe Yilwatda following his emergence as the new National Chairman of the party.
Describing Yilwatda as a seasoned technocrat and strategic leader with whom he has enjoyed a long and fruitful working relationship, Ebere said the appointment was both timely and necessary to reposition the party for deeper grassroots consolidation and institutional renewal.
He noted that Yilwatda’s longstanding commitment to party ideals and innovation will serve as a unifying force for members across board.
In a statement made available to journalists through his personal media assistant, Julian Chijioke, shortly after the APC National Executive Committee, NEC, meeting, the APC State chairman expressed deep appreciation to the number one leader of the party and President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, for guiding the party through what he termed a smooth transition and ensuring stability of the party leadership, especially at the national level.
He also commended the Chairman of the Progressive Governors’ Forum and Governor of the State, Hope Uzodinma, for his unwavering loyalty to the party and the pivotal role he played alongside his fellow governors in midwifing the emergence of Yilwatda through consensus and unity of purpose.
Ebere maintained that the emergence of the new National Chairman is a testament to Governor Uzodinma as a bridge-builder not just within the Southeast zone but beyond.
The state chairman of the APC also used the medium to commend all APC stakeholders at the national, state, and ward levels for their consistent support, resilience, and unflinching commitment to the party’s values and vision.
He urged them to remain steadfast and loyal as the party takes a more focused path towards repositioning the country for economic and democratic advancement.
“As we march into the future, particularly towards the 2027 general elections, I want to reassure Nigerians that the APC, under the leadership of President Tinubu and our new National Chairman, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, will continue to fulfill its promises to the people,” he stated.
