THE Yobe State Government has firmly dismissed claims suggesting that Governor Mai Mala Buni is planning to leave the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
Speaking in an interview in Damaturu yesterday, the Director General of Press and Media Affairs to the governor, Mamman Mohammed, described the rumour as baseless and entirely untrue.
“This speculation has been circulated before and was clearly debunked. It’s an empty rumour and a product of wild imagination,” Mohammed said.
He emphasized that Governor Buni, now serving his second term under the APC platform, remains a committed and loyal member of the ruling party, and would not contemplate defecting.
“Buni is the last person who would consider leaving the APC. His loyalty to the party is unquestionable,” he added.
Mohammed also urged rumour-mongers to be cautious when making political claims, especially regarding long-standing party members like Governor Buni.
