YOBE: Gov Buni presents N2.9b to vulnerable persons

THE Governor of Yobe State, Mai Mala Buni has allocated N2.93 billion to support 25,500 flood victims and vulnerable individuals affected by natural disasters in the state.

The announcement was made during an event at the Government House Banquet Hall in Damaturu.

As part of the initiative, each of the 25,500 beneficiaries will receive ₦50,000, amounting to a total of ₦1.43 billion, to help them recover and rebuild their lives.

Additionally, the Governor launched a ₦1.5 billion empowerment program for 15,000 small business owners and startups, granting each beneficiary ₦100,000 to boost their businesses and foster economic growth.

Governor Buni highlighted the significance of these programs, stating, “These initiatives reflect our commitment to supporting the vulnerable, empowering citizens, and fostering self-reliance and prosperity. By investing in flood victims, vulnerable groups, and small business owners, we aim to address immediate recovery needs and lay the groundwork for long-term economic resilience.”

He also reaffirmed his administration’s dedication to providing free education, affordable healthcare, technological advancements, and economic incentives to uplift underprivileged groups.

Governor Buni further pledged to ensure the smooth establishment of the proposed Early Childcare Development Education Centre in the state.

Emphasizing transparency and accountability, the Governor assured that all intervention programs would be implemented efficiently, with resources properly managed to maximize impact for the people.
