Yoruba Nollywood stars came out in large numbers to pay their last respect to their colleague, Allwell Ademola.
Kemi Filani reported last week that the family of the late actress had announced her burial arrangements. The family disclosed that a Service of Songs will be held on January 8, followed closely by a Candlelight procession. The movie star would be laid to rest on January 9th at Atan Cemetery, Yaba, Lagos.
The Service of Songs is currently ongoing, and colleagues, family and friends of the actress have gathered in large numbers to pay their last respects.
Spotted at the event were Wumi Toriola, Afeez Owo, Kunle Afod, Faithia Williams, Biola Bayo, Mr Latin, Odunlade Adekola, Jayeola Monje, Toyin Alausa, Regina Chukwu, Eniola Ajao, Yemi Solade, Saidi Balogun, Bakare Zainab, Tawa Ajisefinni, Semilore Pweety, Rotimi Salami, Fausat Balogun, Foluke Daramola, Jigan Babaoja and a host of others.
Recall that on 27th the actress had passed away after suffering a heart attack at her residence. The sad news was confirmed by colleagues of the deceased via their respective social media. The likes of Damola Olatunji, Mr Latin, Faithia Williams, and Bidemi Kosoko were the first to mourn her.
In an official family announcement, Allwell’s family revealed that the actress was 49 years old and expressed appreciation for the overwhelming love, prayers, and messages of condolences from her colleagues, friends, and well-wishers. Praying for her soul to rest in peace, they stated that details regarding her burial will be communicated in due course.
Mourning her, Rotimi, noted 72 hours of endless tears still can’t bring her back. Rotimi made it known that all wasn’t well at the moment, but for the sake of his family, friends, and the fans who had shown up, and most especially, for his children, he was learning to move on.
Biola Bayo recounted their last moments together, describing the deceased as the happiest soul she had ever met and told the public to wake her up from the nightmare.
Regina Chukwu said she was still in denial and refuses to accept her death. She noted how they were planning the shoot for Aarin’s Sequel together.
Jamiu Azeez had recounted his last moment with Allwell, noting how she was so full of life. According to him, they laughed, played, and had a great deal of fun, and now she is gone. He noted that Allwell was friends with everyone and remembered his last words to her.
While celebrating her 40th birthday party days back, Folorunsho Adeola made sure that Allwell was given massive respect by honouring her with a moment of silence.
Writing a note to her on her Instagram, Folorunsho said Allwell mattered deeply to her as she recounted her good deeds. The Yoruba actress added that though she was no longer here, she lives in their stories, prayers, and in their quiet moments.
