Nollywood actor Jamiu Azeez has addressed reports of converting to Christianity.
Kemi Filani reported that the Muslim actor had raised eyebrows after celebrating the New Year in a White Garment Church. He was seen in a video attending church service wearing a white robe and holding a candle during service.
The video sparked reactions from many Christians, who welcomed him into the Christian faith.
Addressing the issue on his Instagram page, Jamiu noted that it’s only in Nigeria that people are bothered about another person’s life. He expressed bewilderment at how people are telling a man in his 40s how to live his life.
According to Jamiu, the comments he has been reading on blogs, especially on Facebook, have been crãzy, and some online users have gone as far as sliding into his comment to drag him.
Jamiu said no one will be accountable for his life, and he can choose to practice any religion. He noted that he hasn’t confirmed whether he has converted, and people are already dragging him.

In a different news, Jamiu had tendered a public apology to his senior colleague, Opeyemi Aiyeola for his misdeeds. Azeez noted that he couldn’t write his story without her name boldly written on it, and he acknowledged how he had hurt her deeply, causing a cut that was so deep.
Two weeks after his apology, he announced that the actress had forgiven him, declaring it as his best gift of 2025. He appreciated his friends and colleagues for pleading on his behalf, and appreciated Opeyemi for forgiving him and also giving him another chance. He made it known that he had learned his lessons the hard way.
