The family crisis involving actress Regina Daniels and her husband, Senator Ned Nwoko, representing Delta North in the National Assembly, took a dramatic turn on Wednesday after Regina’s brother, Sweezzy, publicly protested the arrest of their sibling, Sammy Daniels.
Sweezzy, in a series of posts on his Instagram Story, accused the lawmaker of injustice and vowed to resist what he described as an attempt to silence his family.
The visibly angry Sweezzy launched the online protest with the hashtag #FreeSammy, calling on the public and the Nigerian Police Force to intervene.
He wrote, “#FREESAMMY This is injustice and I will fight it with the last drop of my blood. You can’t be the only one with the right to a lawyer! It’s protest time… you can’t silence me and you know it! Free my brother!”
In another post, he accused the senator of abuse of power, adding, “You’re Ned Nwoko, not Jesus Christ. Let everyone have a fair involvement.”
Sweezzy further urged his followers to tag the police on social media platforms until Sammy’s location and reason for detention were made public.
The development comes amid an ongoing marital rift between Regina Daniels and the influential politician.
The Nollywood actress, who married Nwoko in 2019, recently took to Instagram to announce that she was no longer interested in the marriage, stressing that she married “for love, not influence.”
She also disclosed plans to seek full custody of her children, who are currently under the care of the senator.
