Former presidential aide, Lauretta Onochie, has accused President Bola Tinubu of nepotism over the recently released list of ambassadorial nominees.
Naijaonpoint reports that Onochie, who served as Special Assistant on Digital and Social Media during the late former President Muhammadu Buhari, in a post via 𝕏 on Sunday, alleged severe lopsidedness in the appointment.
The former Chairperson of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) also claimed that the distribution of ambassadorial slots favours the South-West.
Onochie also accused President Tinubu of compensating individuals who allegedly worked against the All Progressives Congress (APC)-led Buhari government.
She wrote, “We will overlook the glaring fact of rewarding those who mobilised hostilities against Pres. Buhari’s administration. Lets just have ambassadors.
“But hey, you are solidly in bed with nepotism.

Similarly, a former Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Political Matters, Hakeem Baba-Ahmed, has asked the National Assembly to thoroughly vet the latest ambassadorial nominees, citing background concerns around integrity and legal records.
The political commentator, speaking on Sunday during an interview on the Sunday Politics programme of Channels Television, said national interest must trump politics, regionalism and ethnicity.
He said, “A very sensitive point I want to make without necessarily maligning anybody. There are a few of these nominees that require more rigorous scrutiny in terms of their background, integrity, and records.
“I hope the President [Bola Tinubu], having nominated them, will now allow the National Assembly to do what it is supposed to do and do it well. They should scrutinise these individuals thoroughly.
