Nigerian beauty entrepreneur Adeola Adeyemi, better known as Diiadem, has responded to actress Biola Bayo’s reaction to a childhood incident involving her.
The whole drama started after Biola, via her Instagram page, issued a PSA to her colleagues, lamenting the cost of Asoebi.
Commenting under ..., Diiadem recounted how, when she was much younger, she followed her stepmother to a movie set, and Biola, who was present, allegedly asked her to clean her shoes on set.
According to Diiadem, the issue was never about cleaning the shoes itself, but about the tone and the way she was spoken to. She said the instruction came across as condescending, and even though she was just a child at the time, the memory stuck.
Biola reacted to ... with laughing emojis and brushed the story as something minor, adding that she used to say things like that to everyone back then.
She wrote in Yoruba, “E ma tun gba mi ke!! Ewo tun ni shoe cleaner bayi”.
Diiadem, who was infuriated by her response, slammed her for not taking accountability. She said it costs nothing to be kind, and that if she were in Biola’s position, she would have reached out privately to apologise.
The beauty entrepreneur said the memory has always stayed with her, and that each time she saw Biola on screen, the scene replayed in her mind. She added that sharing it publicly finally gave her a sense of closure.
“He who is tired has forgotten, he who is not able to take it forever, it’s not about the shoe cleaning, it was about how nasty you were to me. I said what I said!”.
In other news, Biola spoke out about arresting her assistant after she discovered that she was stealing from her. The mother of one noted that she isn’t one to dwell on people’s flaws, and no matter how hard one tries to please others, one can never be completely satisfied.
A year back, Biola had experienced a tough time as she broke down in tears on her Instagram page. Narrating what happened, she stated that she hadn’t been this down in a long time as the incident had left her saddened, in pain, and heartbroken.
