Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has hinted at a possible political strategy ahead of the 2027 elections.
Wike gave the hint on Monday during a media briefing in Abuja, when asked about the political implications of his recent meeting with Labour Party Chairman Julius Abure.
The former Rivers State governor confirmed the meeting but described it as a normal engagement between two politicians.
“You said Abure came to visit me. Of course, he is a politician, and I’m a politician. What is wrong when politicians meet each other?” he said.
Pressed on whether the meeting had any political undertone ahead of 2027, Wike responded, “Why would I tell you what I’m planning for 2027? You will know when the time comes.”
The meeting, which took place about three weeks ago in Abuja, led to speculations, especially given Wike’s alleged role in the crisis which rocked another opposition party, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).
