Young Thug has declared that Atlanta music is back on top, despite the rapper’s new album, UY Scuti, having disappointing first-week sales.

“I wake up and just feel so good that Atlanta is back, bruh,” Thug says. “This s–t we doing, this s–t is for the town, only. I’m so happy we back where we supposed to be in this rap community,” he said via Instagram.

Thugger continued, “I don’t think we ever left, but, I think rap is down right now. Us as artists, we got to get it back together. But, Atlanta look so good right now. I’m so f–king elated to be from that place.”

Thugger’s UY SCUTI debuted at No. 6 on the Billboard 200 with 52,000 album-equivalent units in its first week of sales. The album includes features from Mariah the Scientist, Ken Carson, 21 Savage, Lil Baby, and YFN Lucci and more, but the rapper was rocked by snitching allegations ahead of its release.

A police interrogation clip showing Thugger allegedly snitching on a YSL crew member was leaked online. He vehemently denied the allegations before several jail calls were leaked, showing the rapper trash-talking several other celebrities, including GloRilla, Future, and Gunna. He was also exposed for cheating and even planning a family with other women, despite being in a relationship with Mariah The Scientist.

After the backlash, he apologized for his remarks, which he says cost him his relationship, before claiming the leaks were a PR stunt.
