PRESIDENT Bola Tinubu has announced that the Federal Government has subsidized transportation costs to alleviate the festive season’s challenges for Nigerians.

In his 2024 Christmas message, Tinubu highlighted the provision of free train rides and reduced road transport fares.

“To those traveling during this festive period, I wish you safe journeys. Rest assured, the government is working to ensure secure and convenient transportation routes,” Tinubu stated in a signed message.

“We are offering free train services and subsidized road transport across 144 routes nationwide to ease your travels.”

The president extended Christmas greetings to Nigerians and urged them to pray for leaders at all levels of governance.

“On this joyous occasion, I send warm greetings to Christians in Nigeria and around the world as we commemorate the birth of Jesus Christ, as recorded in the Holy Scriptures,” Tinubu said.

“Nigeria is on a path of restoration and progress, with a brighter future ahead. In the spirit of the season, let us renew our hope and belief in a prosperous Nigeria.

“Let us also support and pray for our leaders. With your encouragement, we can serve our country with dedication and work toward its prosperity.”

‘Kindness Knows No Boundaries’

Tinubu emphasized that Christmas signifies the fulfillment of divine prophecy and represents the triumph of love, peace, and unity.

He noted that it serves as a reminder that light can emerge even in the darkest times, offering comfort and hope—a message that resonates with people of all faiths.

“As we celebrate this season, let us remember those facing challenges. They are close to us—neighbors, family, and those we encounter daily, whether in places of worship, markets, offices, or boardrooms,” he said.

“Kindness transcends financial status. Whether one has little or much, everyone can offer a smile or words of encouragement.”
