Yuletide: Renowned scholar donates N50 million to victims of gunmen attack in Imo

Dr. Chima Matthew Amadi, a renowned scholar and transparency advocate, has donated N50 million to victims of a gunmen attack in Akokwa, Ideato South local government area of Imo State.

Dr. Amadi made the donation when he visited the House of Representatives member representing Ideato Federal Constituency, Ikenga Imo Ugochinyere.

He stated that the donation was to aid the rebuilding of properties destroyed during the attack on Ugochinyere’s residence before the 2023 elections.

The visit attracted an overwhelming crowd of over 10,000 people who gathered to witness Dr. Amadi’s presence.

Dr. Amadi expressed unwavering support for Ugochinyere, describing him as a “strong pillar of support” and a rare example of sincerity in a political arena often marked by desperation.

“Hon. Ikenga Imo Ugochinyere is a man of unimpeachable character, consistently committed to the well-being of our people.

“His sincerity and integrity are qualities we should all emulate. I am proud to stand with him in solidarity,” he stated.

Observers say the visit is a major milestone in the political landscape of Imo State, and its impact is expected to be felt for a long time to come.
