Yung Joc is opening up about his time working with Sean “Diddy” Combs and says his own experience at Bad Boy South was far different from the allegations now surrounding the disgraced music mogul.
In a recent interview with Cam Newton, the rapper confirmed he watched the Netflix documentary Sean Combs: The Reckoning and shared that he never personally witnessed the behavior described in the film. “Anything I ever asked for, homie greenlit that,” Joc said. “I didn’t experience what a lot of people have experienced or made allegations to have experienced with him.”
Newton noted the long-standing belief that many Bad Boy artists were taken advantage of, but Joc said that was not his story. “I didn’t have those issues,” he explained. “I think some artists had a different level of protection or filtration.”
Joc recalled a moment when his former label head, Russell “Block” Spencer, refused to let him attend an event with Diddy. “He was like, ‘No, little bro. I won’t let you go,’” Joc said, adding that years later he wondered if he had been shielded from something.
He also reflected on attending Diddy’s parties, saying they seemed harmless at the time. “Everything was always on the up and up,” he said. “I had some great times.”
While Joc believes parts of the documentary contain truth, he remains cautious. “I’ve seen narratives get twisted before,” he said. “I never saw anything like that.”
