Nollywood actress Yvonne Jegede has revealed why she adores her senior colleague, Genevieve Nnaji.

On her Instagram page, Yvonne shared a throwback video of her and Genevieve from a movie scene. She revealed that the movie was shot in 2017. She disclosed that from the movie set, she left straight to the airport and left Nollywood to study for five years.

Yvonne said the movie is why she adores Genevieve, as she was too kind and sweet to me on the project.

“This matter long ooo, see what someone sent to me. 2007, from this movie set, I left straight to the airport and left Nollywood for 5years to go study. I even almost missed my flight, truthfully, this movie is why I always adore Genevieve, she was too kind and sweet to me on this project, very warm and pleasant… If you know the name of this movie please indicate because me sef don’t remember”.

Weeks back, a tweep had a question for Yvonne about her seductive role in Mercy Aigbe’s movie, Thinline. The fan questioned if she was a prostītute before acting, as he noted how she played that role so well. Yvonne responded, expressing how scared she was about his comment.

That wasn’t the first time, Yvonne is going all out for a movie role. A few weeks back, Jegede had created a stir online as she went bald for a 2025 movie role. The movie star, via her Instagram page, shared a video of her cutting her hair as she revealed that she made the bold decision to showcase her dedication to her craft and the depth she brings to her character.

To further prove how good she is as an actor, she shared a 15-year throwback photo of herself with a bald look, as she noted how she has always been known for daring choices with her hair. The movie star made it known that letting go of her hair wasn’t about money, but the movie demanded a transformation and the unmatchable talent of the writer/producer.

Last year, Yvonne had expressed excitement at a project which she claimed would make history in Nollywood. The mother of one revealed that she shot the photos with the monstrous camera on 8k level maximum capacity. She disclosed that the camera is the same camera used to shoot Black Panther, Avatar, and Top Gun: Maverick.
