Zenith Bank Lists Additional Shares on Stock Exchange

One of the leading financial institutions in the country, Zenith Bank Plc, has listed additional shares on the Nigerian Exchange (NGX) Limited.

The fresh stocks were admitted to the trading platform of the NGX last Monday.

They were issued by the company in its hybrid offer comprising the rights issue of 5,232,748,964 ordinary shares of 50 Kobo each at N36.00 per share and offer for subscription of 4,440,587,250 for public offer at N36.50 per unit.

In a statement, the NGX said the listing of additional 9,673,336,214 ordinary shares of Zenith Bank has increased the total issued and fully paid-up shares of the lender to 41,069,830,000 ordinary shares from 31,396,493,786 ordinary shares.

Recall that the rights issue of Zenith Bank was 100 per cent subscribed, while the public offer was 160.47 per cent subscribed.

The bank raised fresh capital to boost its capital base, which the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) must be at N500 billion on or before March 2026.

The central bank is carrying out the banking sector recapitalisation to prepare financial institutions for the $1 trillion economy target of the federal government by 2030.
