A Zombieland star has spoken about their hopes to reunite with co-star Jesse Eisenberg, potentially in his revived action franchise.
In an interview with ScreenRant’s Tatiana Hullender, Zoey Deutch spoke about her hopes of working with Eisenberg, particularly on any upcoming films in the franchise Now You See Me, starring alongside Isla Fisher, Dave Franco, and Morgan Freeman. In the interview, Deutch spoke of her fondness for her former co-star and stated:
“Can I be in the next Now You See Me? I’ll do anything to work with Jesse again. That’s so funny. I have no idea and zero information about anything, but making that movie was a highlight of my life, for sure. I had so much fun. Hey, if the people want it, I hope the people get it. I hope I can be it! I was just lucky to be there, I really was.”
Deutch and Eisenberg starred alongside each other in Zombieland: Double Tap (2019), which followed the first film Zombieland in 2009. The first Zombieland grossed over $100 million worldwide at the box office, and Double Tap earned over $125 million. Zombieland: Double Tap has a Rotten Tomatoes rating of 68% while Zombieland has an 89% rating.
Double Tap sees Woody Harrelson, Abigail Breslin, and Emma Stone reprise their roles, as well as Deutch entering the franchise as a new character named Madison. The gang has to survive a zombie apocalypse as the zombies evolve, so they do their best to protect humanity.
Eisenberg recently starred in his revived action franchise titled Now You See Me: Now You Don’t, which is the third movie in the franchise. The franchise began in 2013 with Now You See Me, and the first two films grossed over $350 million and $335 million worldwide.
Now You See Me: Now You Don’t will be released in theaters on November 14, with a fourth installment confirmed to be in development. It’s unknown if Deutch would or even could be cast in the fourth movie, but the actress is determined to work with Eisenberg again.
Deutch is known for her roles in Not Okay, Anniversary, Set It Up, and Why Him? She has a few new roles currently in production, including Hound, Most Dangerous Game, Voicemails for Isabelle, and a currently unknown movie with the placeholder name Untitled Celebrity Pass Movie, starring alongside Jon Hamm and John Slattery.
