The Apple Notes app could get a feature to attach audio recordings to your notes. A similar option has been available for a long time in Samsung’s Notes app, one of its direct rivals.
Adding audio recordings to your notes is very useful. It allows you to quickly add additional context to each note if you require it. It can also be helpful in situations where you cannot write. For example, if you want to add more information related to a note, you could quickly record the information with your voice to complete the note with text later. The UI for adding audio files could be similar to that of Apple’s voice recording app.
Samsung Notes is one of the most complete note-taking apps out there. On the other hand, Apple Notes offers multiple possibilities, but it is still behind Samsung’s options. Having the function of adding audio recordings to each note will functionally bring the Apple app a little closer.
According to the AppleInsider report, the updated Apple Notes app will be announced alongside iOS 18 and the iPhone 16 series. In addition, it would not be the only improvement that it may get.
Audio recordings in Notes and more math options for the Apple Notes app
It seems that Apple also wants to make its Notes app more suitable for the academic field. With this in mind, they may be developing a “Math Notes” feature. This option will reportedly offer more possibilities related to the Calculator app and mathematical operations. For example, it is said that it will allow you to quickly insert calculations into notes directly from the Calculator app.
The new option may also allow the mathematical notations in notes to be displayed properly. However, the most powerful addition could be a system that automatically resolves mathematical equations. These types of advanced mathematical capabilities are not available in the Samsung Notes app. Therefore, Apple’s option could take advantage of this area. Will Samsung respond with a similar function? Only time will tell.
