Today’s business news is all about a crucial update for POS operators in Nigeria. Pay close attention!

If you’re a POS Operator, this is essential for you.

The Federal government now requires all Point of Sale (PoS) terminals, whether you’re an AGENT, MERCHANT, or INDIVIDUAL, to register with CAC before starting operations.

By July 7, 2024, all PoS operators must have their businesses registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC).

This directive came from the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) through a memo issued on April 30, 2024. It aligns with Section 863 of the Companies and Allied Matters Act (CAMA) 2020.

To guide you through the registration process, we’ve put together this post on how POS operators can register for CAC certificate.

On Wednesday, the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) unveiled a Dedicated Centre for Bulk Registration of PoS Operators.

The Registrar-General and CEO, Hussaini Magaji, inaugurated this center located at the commission’s FCT Zone 5 office.

Magaji assured that the center is fully equipped with modern facilities and staffed with enough personnel to swiftly process applications—open 24/7.

If you’re wondering where to go for registration, visit the CAC office in your area or check out their website at https://cac.gov.ng for more details. Don’t miss this crucial deadline!
