 The jobholder shall: 

• Supervise the activities of all electrical technicians and contractors. 
• Follow up on all intervention works and ensure routine maintenance are done successfully and promptly. 
• Support Electrical Supervisor in the design of new projects and modification of old ones. 
• Co-ordinates interventions and daily inspections/ maintenance of UPS and LIFT systems 
• Monitor the proper usage of electrical materials. 
• Participate in the update of electrical wiring diagrams. 
• Support the entire maintenance team in the achievement of its objectives. 
• Monitor the observance of HSE rules and regulations in all maintenance work by the electrical team. 
• Preparation, Validation and closing of PERMIT TO WORK 
• Preparation, Validation and closing of Inhibition Permit 
• Carries out any other duty as may be assigned to him by Hierarchies.

HSE CONTENT 

• Familiarize self with COMPANY’s emergency management procedures, carry out assigned responsibilities safely and report all incidences and unsafe acts at work. 

QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

• Diploma in Electrical Technology or Artisan Certificate with relevant experience in major Office & Residential Facilities Maintenance. 
• 3-5years experience in electrical installation, UPS and power distribution system. 
• Good interpersonal relationship. 
• Personnel management skills. 
• Honesty and probity. 
• Computer Literacy.

Job Details

• The jobholder manages the design of solar projects from point of award to point of handover.
• The jobholder visits company and/ or client sites to carry out engineering assessment and prepare engineering reports identifying the work scope Defines work scope recommendations and project proposals.
• The jobholder carries out engineering analysis, design and calculations for projects that have such requirements. The jobholder also oversees the preparation of the required engineering drawings.
• Works with the solar business team on the technical specifications of any solar project being prospected.
• Prepares cost estimates based on the aforementioned, and will define BOQ and tender requirements with Quantity Surveyor
• Provides all necessary engineering assistance to contractors in compliance with company policies and regulations.
• Manage and organise interventions of different contractors and suppliers in the project.
• Propose and supervise implementation of solar projects, customer location, and electrical projects or installations in company sites or as directed.
• Conducts site visits, inspect works, organises and directs site meetings along with final project commissioning.
• Acts as the on-site technical representative to COMPANY.
• Ensure that works are done in compliance with safety regulations and quality requirements.
• Appraises contractors at the completion of project.
• Acts as the first link between the contractor and company for the project.
• Ensures that all the materials and data required for proper job execution are made available to the contractor.
• Controls that equipment, materials and data required for proper job execution are made available to the contractor.
• The jobholder follows up on the payment of the contractors and prepares financial statement for projects executed.
• • Deliver projects according to COMPANY and best professional standards.
• The Solar Project Engineer is responsible to the Renewable Explorer in the discharge of his/her duties, in order to ensure adherence to company policies and procedures with respect to project executions and appraisals.

QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

•  B. Eng./ B.Sc. Electrical/Electronic Engineering or its Equivalent.
• Registration with professional body, necessary but not compulsory.
• Computer literacy (AutoCAD)
