Tinubu appoints chief executive officers for NESREA, NDRBDA

PRESIDENT Bola Tinubu has appointed Dr. Innocent Bariate Barikor as the Director-General of the National Environmental Standards and Regulation Enforcement Agency (NESREA).

The President has also selected Prince Ebitimi Amgbare as the Managing Director/CEO of the Niger Delta River Basin Development Authority (NDRBDA).

The President’s spokesperson, Ajuri Ngelale, issued a statement todayconfirming these appointments.

He stated that the President expects the new heads of these key agencies to carry out their duties with utmost commitment to the nation and unwavering adherence to the highest standards of professionalism, accountability, and excellent service to the people of Nigeria.

Dr. Barikor is both a scholar and a politician. He served in the Rivers State House of Assembly from 2011 to 2015 while Prince Amgbare is a retired naval commander and former Bayelsa State commissioner.

The President had already selected Jim Ovia, a well-known banker and businessman, as Chairman of the Board of the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND).

According to the Presidency, Ovia would be responsible for ensuring that all Nigerian youths, regardless of ethnicity, have access to higher education and skills that will enable them to be productive members of society and fundamental contributors to this century’s knowledge-based global economic system.
