Nigerian vocalist Teniola Apata, more commonly referred to as Teni, elucidated the rationale behind her act of prostrating to greet the esteemed businessman and socialite, Ibrahim Egungbohun Dende, widely known as IBD Dende, during a recent flight.
CREEBHILLS recollects the incident where Teni faced criticism subsequent to sharing a video wherein she was seen prostrating to greet IBD Dende while onboard a plane, posted through her X social media account on Friday.
The majority of the critics censured her for her association with IBD Dende, notwithstanding the accusations of involvement in illicit activities against him.
In her response on Saturday morning, Teni clarified that she was oblivious to any unlawful undertakings linked to IBD Dende, asserting that the businessman had exhibited kindness towards her back in 2014, even prior to her attainment of fame, and ever since, she has held him in high regard.
She wrote, “[I] Met IBD [Dende] in 2014 and he was so good to me, even before I blew up. So when[ever] I see him, it’s always love.
“I honestly had no knowledge of any criminal activities associated with him. I do not support criminals, so let the law take its course.”
