Alejandra Marisa Rodriguez, a 60-year-old lawyer and journalist from La Plata, Argentina, has defied expectations and reshaped the standards of beauty competitions.

Her recent win as Miss Universe Buenos Aires is a significant milestone, not only in her personal journey but also in the transformation of the Miss Universe organization towards increased inclusivity and diversity.

She is set to represent Buenos Aires in the forthcoming national selection for Miss Universe Argentina in May 2024.

This revolutionary change stems directly from the Miss Universe Organization’s resolution in September 2023 to remove age constraints for participants.

Previously, only individuals aged between 18 and 28 were permitted, but now any woman above 18 years old can take part, creating opportunities for a broader spectrum of backgrounds and viewpoints.

“I am thrilled to be a part of this new era in beauty pageants,” Rodriguez  remarked, “where we celebrate women not just for their physical appearance but for the diverse qualities they possess.”

Rodriguez’s victory demonstrates that beauty knows no age limits. This triumph signifies a crucial juncture in the progression of beauty contests, forging a path towards a more all-encompassing and representative future.
