Baby Reindeer, created by Scottish actor Richard Gadd and based on his one-man-play of the same name, seems like the kind of story that could easily be lurid and exploitative. Instead, the show, depicting a standup comic’s efforts to deal with a stalker, offers a surprisingly nuanced perspective on mental health issues and the kinds of trauma men deal with but don’t talk about openly. And all the while, it still manages to be darkly funny.
