Before Luke Kleintank announced his imminent departure from “FBI: International,” Heida Reed was written off the series in the middle of Season 3. Special Agent Jamie Kellett ends up returning to a more staid lifestyle in Washington, deciding to live both for herself and for her deceased sister. “I have served my country, fell in love, I ran away from my grief. It’s time to go back home,” she tells Scott Forrester. She heads home on a train and has not been seen since. Christina Wolfe’s Special Agent Amanda Tate has primarily filled in the hole made by Kellett in the narrative since then.
At the time, Reed’s departure was put down to creative decisions. CBS did not release a statement about this switch-up, though Reed did memorialize her time on the show with an Instagram post. “Thank you SO MUCH to the fans for letting Jamie into your hearts. Agent Kellett out!” ... reads, complete with plane and heart-related emojis. It appears that her time on “FBI: International” wasn’t a role she’d rather fans forget about.
Though the series is now down two of its original leads, “FBI: International” continues to be a solid performer, ranking as the 8th most popular program in prime-time television for the week of April 8. Hopefully, all of that cast juggling will be a thing of the past for Season 4.
