Google has expanded the availability of YouTube Premium to 10 new countries, according to the updated list of available locations. YouTube has continuously gained popularity across the world, remaining the largest video-sharing platform. With 1.9 billion active users each month, the platform boasts videos on every topic imaginable. Google has been aggressively introducing more ads on YouTube in recent years, and a Premium subscription helps users avoid them.
Which countries has YouTube Premium expanded to?
Despite its popularity, certain YouTube Premium features remain unavailable in many countries. uper chats, memberships, and Premium subscriptions are just a few examples. The ten new countries that have received Premium include the Asian countries of Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan.
Premium has also been rolled out to the MENA countries of Morocco, Yemen, and Libya. The African countries of Tanzania, Uganda, and Zimbabwe are also included in the list. Jamaica was also found in the updated list of countries. Lastly, the island of Réunion, which is an overseas region of France, has also gotten access to YouTube Premium. Pleasingly, all of the aforementioned countries are also eligible for YouTube Premium’s student discounts.
The global push for YouTube Premium
Google has recently waged war against users who skirted around ads on YouTube. Many users complained about the increasing number of adverts before each video, most un-skippable. There are also ads between videos, leading some to compare YouTube to the bygone era of cable TV. As people get more annoyed, a multitude of workarounds has popped up.
