Snapchat regularly adds new features to its platform to help you communicate with your friends more quickly. Now, it’s introducing several new features that include the ability to edit messages, create reminders, react with emojis, and more.
AI reminders and fixing typos
The new update from Snapchat is all about adding more AI functionalities to the platform. You can now use My AI to create reminders for an upcoming event. You simply need to ask My AI to create a reminder in its direct chat, or you can even ask it in a conversation with another friend. This way, you’ll never miss out on any important event.
Snapchat’s new update is also introducing the feature to edit your messages. This is one of those features that has been present on most social media platforms, and it’s finally coming to Snapchat as well.
You’ll be able to edit your messages for up to five minutes after sending them, but only before the person you’re chatting with replies to your message. This feature will be added to the platform in the coming days and will be available first to Snapchat+ subscribers.
Emoji reaction, Map reaction, and other features of the Snapchat AI Update
Currently, you can only use your Bitmoji to respond to a chat on Snapchat. However, with this new update, you can also use different emojis to respond to messages. To do this, you need to tap the “+” button that appears after long-pressing the message you want to respond to, and then select the emoji you want to use to respond to that message.
Snapchat is also adding reactions to Snap Map. This small update lets you acknowledge your friends’ presence in the digital space. For instance, you can send a wave when your friend is near your location, or you can react with a heart emoji when you see they’ve safely reached their home.
Another AI feature coming with this Snapchat update is the ability to use AI to create custom clothes for your Bitmoji. You can give a prompt for the type of outfit you want, and then the AI will come up with different clothing options based on your requirements. You can then select a cloth and edit it as per your choice.
Along with all these, Snapchat is adding more AI functionality to its lenses. You can now create a Polaroid-style 90s version of yourself on Snapchat. You simply need to take a selfie, and then the AI lens will do its job.
