Vi has introduced eSIM services for its prepaid users in New Delhi, expanding from its recent launch in Mumbai, Maharashtra, and Goa.
With eSIM, Vi prepaid customers can enjoy more convenience and flexibility. It allows multiple profiles on one device, enabling the use of a secondary SIM without removing the primary one.
The company highlighted that the eSIM technology not only enhances sustainability but also improves connectivity and facilitates the adoption of new tech. Now, all Vi customers, both prepaid and postpaid, can access this feature.
Here’s how to get Vi eSIM on your phone:
Existing Customers:
1. To initiate the process, send an SMS to 199 with “eSIM” followed by your registered email ID.
2. Upon validation, reply with “ESIMY” within 15 minutes.
3. Provide consent over a call.
4. Scan the received QR Code in Settings > Mobile Data > Add data plan.
5. Activate your eSIM within 30 minutes.
New Customers:
1. Visit the nearest Vi store with identity proof.
2. Follow the activation process for a smooth experience.
3. Prepaid subscribers can also activate online via myvi.in.

Vi eSIM is accessible to iOS and Android users, with a list of compatible smartphones available.

To update email IDs for eSIM eligibility, send “Email <space> Email ID” to 199. After registration, wait for 48 hours before availing the service via SMS.
